WOOHP World Expansion: “Totally Spies!” Celebrates 25 Years with Season 8 and Live-Action Debut

The world’s favorite Beverly Hills secret agents are proving that being a spy never goes out of style. As of early 2026, the Totally Spies! franchise is undergoing its largest expansion since its 2001 debut, marking its 25th anniversary with a flurry of new content. Following the massive success of the Season 7 revival—which saw Sam, Alex, and Clover relocate to a high-tech campus in Singapore—Banijay Kids & Family has officially confirmed that Season 8 is set to premiere later this year. To kick off the celebrations, the first two episodes of the new season are scheduled for a prestigious world premiere screening at the CANNESERIES festival in France on April 23, 2026.

While the animated series continues to thrive, the biggest buzz surrounds the trio’s jump into live-action. Amazon MGM Studios, in partnership with Will Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez Productions, is currently in active development on a live-action Totally Spies! series for Prime Video. Unlike the current animated reboot, the live-action adaptation will follow a slightly older version of the characters as they navigate their first year of college while balancing international espionage. Executive produced by Ferrell alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor, the project aims to capture the “girl-power” and campy gadgetry of the original while grounding the friendship for a Young Adult audience. Production is expected to ramp up through 2026, with a targeted release window in late 2026 or early 2027.

The “WOOHP” resurgence isn’t limited to the small screen, as the franchise has also made a significant return to gaming. Late 2024 saw the release of Totally Spies! – Cyber Mission, the first major console game for the series in over a decade. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, the game allows players to step into the iconic colorful catsuits to solve a digital threat in Singapore. The game’s success has paved the way for a year-long 25th-anniversary campaign in 2026, which will include high-end fashion collaborations, collectible merchandise from Youtooz, and themed “globe-trotting” digital experiences for the global fanbase.

For fans who have been following the spies since the early 2000s, this era represents a “full circle” moment for the property. With Season 7 finishing its international rollout on Cartoon Network this March and Season 8 already on the horizon, the momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Whether it’s through the classic 2D animation that defined a generation or the high-budget live-action reimagining at Amazon, the Spies are officially back and more relevant than ever in the modern media landscape.
